BARON HILL PARK SSSI

Baron Hill Park SSSI is an area of eighteenth century landscaped parkland with approximately 200 mature trees which support a range of lichens unusual for this part of Wales. Many of the trees are sessile oak but they also include turkey oak, lime and sycamores. Dead wood in the canopy of some trees is a sign of their age and a valuable resource for fungi and insect. Lesser horseshoe bats are thought to frequent the area.
